A friend of mine has been trying to convince me that I'm missing out on a lot by not watching House. I've seen bits and pieces of it but never a whole show for some reason. Since my husband is out of town, she's says why don't I come over and we'll get some good take-out and watch the show. About maybe 10 minutes into the show, the power goes out in the building. She was so mad. I stayed a little while but decided I didn't want to sleep in an unfamiliar place anyway and came home. She wouldn't come with me though. She said this was the third time the power's been out in their area in the past two weeks, not during storm weather either. Maybe I can find the House episode online in a couple of days, watch it and make her happy.

Well, I do feel like I got some things accomplished today, not everything but then when does that ever happen. I started organizing the junk room. It was once a dining room that was never used, then a storage room, then a computer room, then back to being a junk room with just a trail to the computer. I went through several boxes and talked myself into throwing away a bunch of stuff. Still I estimate that I'm only about 1/3 done with it.

I skipped church/singing/fellowshipping this evening. I was still feeling bedraggled from the cleaning and just didn't feel like talking to anybody. Not in a bad mood, I just wanted to be quiet and not have to make conversation with 50 different people. I drove around for a while, started out to the old place where my great-grandmother used to live but the road was too bad to go all the way. Drove down several roads I know I haven't been on in years. Came back, checked on my sister and visited with my brother-in-law who's out of town all week with his job.

Now I'm not sleepy but I'm tired of sitting here, don't really want to watch TV or read.

I've just read reports about Heath Ledger found dead, perhaps from some kind of accidental overdose, in New York City today. It always feels very shocking when someone dies so unexpectedly and at such a young age. I don't know if he had family or not. I was trying to think of the first time I saw him...probably in A Knight's Tale, not one of my favorite movies but I loved him in 10 Things I Hate About You which I saw for the first time a year or two ago and at first didn't even recognise him. He was wonderful in The Patriot and of course Brokeback Mountain brought him all the recognition. He's the Joker in the new Batman movie, don't know if that's finished, hope so.
